OUR FIVE YEAR VISION 2011 - 2016
We believe that St John’s and St Luke’s are called to be places and communities which help people connect with God in prayer and worship, and where the good news of God’s love is witnessed in action.
We further believe that over the next five years our churches are called to grow numerically, grow in their level of activities and grow in their depth of discipleship; and our buildings are to be resources well used by the community at large, witnessing to the presence of the living God in the heart of the city and in the midst of human life, in all its variety and complexity, in all its joys and sorrows.

We are pleased to announce that the Revd Canon Ian Black has been appointed Vicar of Peterborough and Canon Residentiary of Peterborough Cathedral. Ian will be joining us in September.
Reported on Peterborough Cathedral website 12th April 2012
The Bishop has appointed the Rev’d Canon Ian Black as Vicar of St. John the Baptist, Peterborough, in succession to the Venerable Gordon Steele (now Archdeacon of Oakham), and as a Canon Residentiary of the Cathedral in succession to the Venerable David Painter, who retired recently.
Ian has been Vicar of Whitkirk in Leeds, in the Diocese of Ripon & Leeds, since 2002. He is also a member of the Chapter of Ripon Cathedral. Ian is married with two sons. He is the author of three books on prayer. He has been writing online for around twelve years and also blogs on www.rejesus.co.uk.
The Very Rev’d Charles Taylor, Dean of Peterborough, warmly welcomed the appointment. He said, “Ian’s principal ministry will be to the City Centre parish; but his additional role as a Residentiary Canon and member of the Cathedral Chapter opens the way for a potentially exciting partnership between the Cathedral and St. John’s in shared mission to our City Centre.” It is intended that Ian should be Installed at the Cathedral and Inducted at St. John’s this coming September.
